vrednosti u okolini: Sokobanja
je oslonjena na padine planine Ozren (1117 m), a u blizini je i planina
Rtanj. Banja je okružena prostranim i lepo uređenim parkovima i
izletištima. Tu je i Bovanska klisura i Bovansko jezero, zatim
najveći vodopad u srbiji – Ripaljka, izletišta Lepterija,
Kalinovica i Očno, kao i značajan broj pećina. Kulturno-istorijski
spomenici u okolini: Sportsko-rekreativni sadržaji: Bazeni sa termalnom vodom, teretane, sale za male sportove, tereni za tenis i mali fudbal.
SOKOBANJA SPA LOCATION, CLIMATE, TRAFFIC LINKS Sokobanja Spa is located on the banks of the Moravica river, at the foot of Mount Rtanj (1563 m), lying on the slopes of Mount Ozren (1117 m), in south-eastern Serbia. It is 240 km away from Belgrade. You can reach Sokobanja Spa by the Belgrade-Nis motorway and railway. Natural curative factors The natural curative factors of Sokobanja Spa are thermo-mineral springs with temperatures ranging from 28 (Banjica) to 45,5 (Park) degrees Celsius, the radon gas with suitable ionization, clear mountain air without air pollution and an exceptionally soothing moderate continental climate. Medical indications Bronchial asthma, chronic hepatitis, psycho-neuroses, neurasthenia, minor forms of hypertension, chronic rheumatism, chronic rheumatic and degenerative illnesses, sciatica, conditions after injuries. Treatment Treatment is provided in the "Sokobanja" special hospital. It is equipped with the most modern means for diagnostics, treatment and rehabilitation by using the natural curative factors. Cultural, entertainment, sports and recreative programmes The spa is surrounded by spacious and nicely arranged parks and picnic areas. In the vicinity of the spa there are numerous interesting sites to visit: the picturesque Bovanska gorge, Bovansko lake, beaches on the Moravica river, the spring of the Moravica river, Mount Ozren (Ripaljka waterfall, Lepterija, Kalinovica and Ocno picnic grounds and numerous caves), Mount Rtanj, Josanicka Spa, medieval towns of Bovan, Sokograd and Vrmdza. For the recreation of guests and patients on the grounds of the Special hospital, there are a swimming pool with thermal waters, a gym, a sports hall, a table tennis hall and a football court at hand. The Organization for tourism, culture and sport is in charge of organizing the "First accordion of Yugoslavia" festival, the "Sokograd" art colony, "The Spa cultural summer" and other cultural programmes.
